Poppies on Fire - Day 309by ~escaped-emotions

This is the 3rd time I've photographed poppies for my 365 project. 2 days ago I photographed a ton of them, and uploaded 8+ extra photos. [link]

After waterskiing this morning we passed the same poppy field, and my sisters wanted to photograph them for their own 365 projects.

I was tying to work out how I could make the poppies different, having done them already... so I tried a different perspective, combined with processing.

Originally I wanted to do some black and white processing, but it just looked rubbish. So I ended up reducing the saturation almost completely and selecting the red tones and making those really strong, and adding a red haze so the poppies look like they're on fire.

I'm really happy with the outcome - I think they almost look painted, instead of photographed.
